Why are the books available in different sizes?
Because real books come in a range of sizes.  Many of our books are available in both small size, which tend to fit better on bookcases and are 12th scale to an A5 sized book, and large size, which look great open or on a table, and are 12th scale to an A4 sized book.  Our deluxe picture books are normally only available in the larger size, as this is the size of books of this type, and below this size printing looses its clarity.  We also sell larger books for 6th scale and larger dolls.

Do you make 24th Scale books?
Our 'small' sized books are equivalent to a 24th scale large (A4) sized book.  These are available for most of our fiction collection, as well as bibles, cookbooks etc.  Unfortunately, as our books are hand sewn, we have not been able to produce smaller books, or picture books at this scale to an acceptable quality.

Do your prices include postage?
As we charge a sliding scale for postage based on the total size of the package, and on where it is being delivered to; the prices on the website do not include postage.  If you click on your shopping cart there is an option to estimate postage, which will tell you the total cost for your order.  This is much cheaper than paying per book.  Please see our postage page for more details.

My house is set to an exact date.  How can I choose appropriate books?
We've set up this website with you in mind!  Each book shows its date of publication alongside the Author's name, and you can sort search pages by date of publication.  In addition, on the brown bar towards the top of each page you will see an option "By Period" - where books and newspapers are grouped into each period.  Just remember that it is quite normal to have books from earlier periods in your house, so Pride and Prejudice is quite acceptable for a Victorian House.  One final point is to ensure that you check the binding - the 'dust jacket' style binding did not come into existence until the 1850s, though it was the most common binding type by the 1890s.

How long does delivery take?
We post books out as soon as we receive your order, though if we are at a fair or on holiday there may be a week's delay.  In the UK you should allow 14 days - add an extra 7 days for most international deliveries, or up to 28 days for deliveries to particularly remote areas.
